  I had to visit Lanzarote urgently after my father was taken into Intensive Care there. hired a citroen C4 from Felycar which was nearest to my hotel Lanzarote Princess.

  Car looked a bit neglected on inspection but I didnt have time to compare with other companies. On the journey to Hospiten we had warning red lights flashing. Managed to complete visit and got back to Felycar office which was closed. Translated with Google the warning message as "Insufficient oil pressure" checked dipstick and no oil showing. Called their helpline 13 times no answer. Had to make a return afternoon journey to hospiten so purchased 5 litres of oil. It took 4 litres to register on the stick, so it must have been empty. Took car back next day and finally got my all my money back. Hired a car from Cabrera Medina down the road and they were perfect for the rest of the week. Talking with an expat out there, none of the local companies maintain there cars, Carera Medina being the exception.

  Rented a Suzuki Jimny from here and the brakes failed on the way back to the aiport. Could have been killed. No-one was around at the airport and their office was closed when we tried to contact them.
